By way of introduction, the Pace-Robinson property lies astride, what is formerly and better known as, Vinings Mt. The following is a synopsis profile of submitted site.
It comprises 2.5 acres on which lies the “Pace Cemetery” on 1/2 acres, and surrounding woodland property on the remaining 2 acres. Location is on the corner of Wilkinson Parkway and Outlook Parkway, with one entrance slightly east of Outlook Parkway. There are no improvements on the property.
Situated between two adjointing properties (1) One Vinings Mountain (high end condo residential), and (2) Outlook III (commercial), the property retains a scenic view of Atlanta above the Vinings Community. The same view that Union General Sherman had of first laying eyes on Atlanta.
The cemetery plotage and grounds are well kept by a private 501C-3 entity known as the Pace-Robinson Trust (PRT) consisting of 14 members of family decendancy.
The purpose of submission is a lack of perpetuity and dwindling funds within PRT to continue long-term care.
The property cannot ever be sold, and it is the intention of PRT to offer the property to the Cobb County Park Commission as donated to the purpose of a devised “Pocket Park” plan acceptable to all parties involved, including but not limited to, the Commission, PRT, surrounding property owners, and the Vinings Community. RPT Stipulations would include care and respect for cemetery grounds, with plan to include restoration of historic markers and public access to scenic posture – with limited parking capacity.
Other concepts suggested are the proximity to the Silver Comet Trail off Cumberland Parkway as a “challenge” route; bicycling route, and potentially a walking pathway along the face of Vinings Mt. from the Vinings community below. The Vinings Preservation Historic Society has voiced a position of participation in the elevation of the property to historic recognition and public access.

Hi Tony,
Loved the video of Mrs Rowe.
Shouldn’t the cemetery also carry the name of Randal? I understood that Pace/Randal was the original name and that Pinkney Randall either co-owned the property with Pace or sold it to him for all their heirs, which of course include many Robinsons. I did know that Norman and his family now control and keep the site in good condition. I met Norman’s daughter up there several years ago.
